Today, we can organize many things in a way that adds to our decorating scheme. You can find all kinds of pretty boxes, baskets, shelving units, and even decorative filing cabinets in home stores and home departments.
This beautiful aged-like shelving unit holds extra pillows and some of my decorating magazines, which are hidden in the Paris storage box. This decorative storage box fits so well within this scheme. The two thick books on top of the counter are actually two more storage boxes, and they store some miscellaneous things.
BASKETS, BASKETS, BASKETS! I just love them!
The empty area under my coffee table was a great place for storing things we use on a daily basis. This large basket was perfect for extra soft blankets, and the occasional toys I find in it. It was also a good place for extra pillows. Having these items openly stored here adds a soft touch to the living space, because it adds more color and texture to the room.
I also use a basket to keep all of my journals, CD's, reading books, current inspirations and any other things I need when I'm in brainstorming mode or during my quiet time. Having this basket makes it so much easier to keep everything together and handy when I'm ready for it. It is also just as easy to neatly tuck away when I'm entertaining.
You know all that mail you get, bills or papers that you're not quite sure you should throw away yet? Yup, that's what this basket is for! This keeps all the piled up papers off my tables and counters, which at one time was the case and it would bother me so much when it was the first thing I saw walking in the house. Problem solved!
As you can see, more storage baskets and more pillows perfectly disguised as decorative displays.
